About the role:

Skybox seeks a talented QA Engineer to support development of the Flight control software for our next generation imaging satellites.  You will be part of a dynamic team that performs testing of spacecraft subsystems to assure it is ready for launch.  The QA Engineer also supports spacecraft integration and testing.  Other activities include testing ground data system software, participating in launch operations, and helping to operate the spacecraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Test flight software on spacecraft test-bed
  • Validate correct operation of spacecraft subsystems
  • Review specifications and formulate test plans
  • Create and execute test cases
  • Analyze test results
  • Write scripts to automate tests
  • Summarize test results and report defects
  • Work closely with developers to troubleshoot spacecraft systems

Skills and Experience:

  • BS (or higher) in the field(s) of Computer Science, Information Technology, Quality Assurance, Computer Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years Quality Assurance/Testing experience or software development experience
  • Experience testing real-time embedded system software
  • Automating test cases
  • Strong scripting ability (python, etc.) desired
  • Experience using Linux
  • Must be able to clearly communicate test status and detailed issues to management
  • Strong knowledge of test methodologies
  • Strong planning skills
  • Experience managing large amounts of test data
